5-Malt spirit in used casks constitutes a very small amount of our stocks. This type of cask allows one to explore the influence of roasted malts in the 5-malt spirit without typical fresh oak flavors. Another unique factor is where it spent a portion of its maturation—right here in Seattle instead of our rackhouse in Hoquiam. Cask #885 ia another step in the pursuit to identify the contributions roasted malts bring to single malt whiskey.
